Tanzania Workshop

Kevin traveled to Tanzania in July to work with AfricAid to conduct a workshop focused on African Elephants.  Read about the workshop at Dot-to-Dot Children’s Books Blog.

Tarangire National Park in Northern Tanzania is the 6th largest national park in Tanzania. Due to the presence of the Tarangire River, the park is famous for its massive herds of elephants, which can number up to 300 elephants. During the dry season, the elephants can be found scratching the dry river beds for water and other species congregate around the parks shrinking lagoons, making it the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem.

AfricAid’s new Kisa Project is an innovative program that connects American sponsors with young women in Africa who are training to become future community leaders. As a part of this program, Kisa Scholars will complete their secondary education while also participating in a formal, two-year leadership training program. Dot-to-Dot Children’s Books worked with the Kisa Scholars to generate content for a children’s book and other educational materials.
